Sixteen years of kitchens, bathrooms and honest conversations

A room is only as good as the questions asked before it was drawn.

After training as an interior designer, I found kitchens and bathrooms the most overlooked design spaces. People chose a beautiful door front in a bright showroom, then took it home to a north-facing room where it looked nothing like it had an hour earlier. The high-pressure sales environment of the usual kitchen sellers means homes end up with cabinets filling their space without getting down to how the family will actually use the space.

Every project now begins in your house, measuring the real room, watching where the light lands in the afternoon, noticing that the back door is the one everyone actually uses. Samples get left with you because a stone that looks perfect at 11am can look grey at six.

Sixteen years in, the work spans single shower rooms through to whole-house renovations across Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Somerset. What hasn't changed is the way it runs: one designer, one point of accountability, and a clear answer when you ask what something is going to cost.
